Owned and operated by the Martin family, El Charro Restaurante Mexicano, is well known for its delicious Mexican food in Fraser, MI and friendly atmosphere. The original location opened in 1973 in Fraser, Michigan and could only accommodate 45 patrons. With authentic recipes from Delia s parents, Consuelo and Rosalio Rendon, and financial backing from George's parents, George, Sr. and Lila Martin, word began to spread and El Charro Restaurante Mexicano began to grow.

In 1978, the capacity doubled in sized to 90 seats. A new 60-seat restaurant with a convenient drive-thru window opened in 1980 in St. Clair Shores. By 1992, the original location, was still not large enough to accommodate the growing crowds, which led to the construction of a new 240-seat restaurant in downtown Fraser. The most recent addition is located in Macomb, with seating for 120 patrons, celebrated its one-year anniversary in 2005.

Since its creation, George and Delia Martin and their young family, Ed, Jeff, Mark and Lynn, worked long hours to establish a business they are very proud of. Following tradition, the grandchildren also work at the restaurant, making it truly a family business.
