The Piano Place was established in 1994 when Richard Bittner, a registered piano technician with the Piano Technicians Guides, saw a need in the community for providing more personal attention and service than what other piano retail outlets offered. Service was the main focus, with respect to tuning, repairing and rebuilding pianos, as well as installing players systems. The Piano Place began to acquire used pianos and rebuild or restore them and then offer them for sale. While maintaining and even expanding service, Richard realized that retailing new pianos could be an invaluable offering as well. New piano sales began with acquiring the American-made Charles Walter line. As demand grew, other manufactures of world-class pianos were added, which now include Hallet-Davis, Perzina, Petrof, Hailun, August Forster and Sauter.

Richard, along with his wife, Jan, and a team of competent employees continue to believe that comprehensive service and quality products are all important to satisfy discriminating customers and have a successful piano business. The Piano Place knows that offering first-rate quality pianos at reasonable and affordable prices are what their customers trust them to do, whether they be common brand name or not.
