Good wine has soul. It comes from a place – a place in time, a place in a winemaker’s spirit, a place in the world. Each bottle uncorked or uncapped reveals something unique.
For more than 40 years, Cloverleaf Fine Wine has brought these wines and these places to Michigan, creating a reputation as the finest source in Metro Detroit for natural wines, artisanal beers, and excellent values. In an era when wine can be purchased at massive Big Box wholesale operations (and hey, we love Costco too!), there is still an urgent need for the kind of experience and exclusivity the serious Michigan wine buyer gets from no place other than Cloverleaf Fine Wine.
At Cloverleaf, most of our wines cannot be found anywhere else in town. We often work with niche and craft winemakers who have no advertising budgets or massive trucking systems. Their cost goes entirely to their wines, which means we can bring a much better wine for the same value as the mass producers. And if we don’t have exactly what you’re looking for, we can usually find it and order it for you.
One more significant difference: Cloverleaf is a specialty store. Fine wine and distinctive craft beers are all that we do. We’re not a supermarket or drugstore. We don’t sell laundry detergent or baloney. And we taste EVERY wine that goes up on our shelves. We can recommend them all with knowledge and enthusiasm.
Our craft beers, ales, and lagers are local in the truest sense of the word. We stock beers from all across the world and from many breweries, but the crux of our collection lies in Michigan beers and small-batch, handcrafted beers that represent age-old styles. Beers that embody the passion of the true artisan brewers that have sustained their communities for centuries.
Recently, we relocated to downtown Royal Oak and our new home in a contemporary, cozy cellar space of bricks, mortar, and iron in a former power plant for the streetcars that once ran Woodward Avenue—a vintage structure in its own right and a part of Detroit’s history. Our store is a wonderful place to browse, learn—we love to talk about wine, beer, food, you name it—and just take a moment or two more to find that perfect wine for your next party or meal. We know you’ll see the Cloverleaf difference, and you’ll keep coming back.
