​Direct Optical & Hearing Superstore is the largest independently owned and operated optical store , optometry practice and hearing services provider in the Metro Detroit area.  Since 1989, owner Dennis Chaiken, the doctors and staff of Direct Optical & Hearing have brought their passion along with quality eyewear to customers at affordable prices.

For 29 years Direct Optical & Hearing's family business has serviced customers from all over the metropolitan Detroit area as well as Ohio, Florida, New York, Illinois and beyond.  Our clientele, much like our business, is generational. It's about family. We know the families that shop here: Grandparents, parents, kids and cousins.  Customer service is our top priority, our staff knows each patient and in return our patients ask for our opticians/frame stylists by name.

Direct Optical owns and operates it's own state of the art optometry lab in Farmington Hills, which enables us to turn around your custom eyeglass orders quickly, in addition allowing us to bring you our everyday low prices on name brand lenses, and our Direct Optical brand lenses made in our lab which keep your prices down and quality high.

In 2010 Direct Optical Optique in Canton opened, located next to Ikea.  Optique brings high end fashion brands such as Chanel and Maui Jim to the area along with our commitment to low prices on name brand frames and great customer service. 

We are happy to announce the addition of Direct Hearing at the Direct Optical Farmington Hills location beginning August 2016.

Audiologist Nina Lopatin provides FREE Hearing Tests and individualized fittings for hearing aids based on patients' needs. Nina hosts a monthly lecture series, Hear! Here! at the store to discuss hearing issues and solutions. Hear! Here! is the second Wednesday of each month at 11am, coffee and nosh are supplied!
